We lost our beautiful Houston yesterday.  We knew it was coming, but Papa could only support his decisions.  He was still eating his meals like a trouper, but was needing help getting up.  You can't win against cancer.

The hardest thing is the goodbye.  We love you Houston, and we know you are waiting for us and being cared for with Chico, Honey, Dusty, Domino, Scrappy, Maddie, Chester, Duke, and Sam.  Zeke, Sadie, Aeron and Winkie are missing you already.

You were a dedicated pal to Papa, and that was my plan when I found you in the Dachsie rescue in Nashville.  They very kindly sent you over as a shotgun traveler in an 18 wheeler.  

Your life had been horrid before that, the rescue pulled you out of Georgia where a breeder had dumped all of her dogs in a hotbox at an animal control in the middle of summer.  Guessing you were about three and had never been out of a cage, or handled and loved by humans.  It took a while, but Papa and you came to become besties, and until just this past year, you were together nearly every minute of each day.  You Houston made the biggest difference in Papa's emotional life from the moment he met you, and I loved and adored you for all you did.

Watch over your buds up there till we can join you all.  Love and tears.

Our Sadie was dumped in the country, and came to us through a friend who could not keep her because he said she couldn't get along with his dogs.

We have not seen this behavior in her, in fact Sadie seems to love everyone.

She is underweight at this time, and we are working on that.

Our greatest hope is to get Sadie into a Great Dane rescue, or a real permanent home as quickly as possible.

What we do and how we do it.  Wish I knew.  GreenePets came into being in 2004, as a Foster Network.  That really didn't work out, because we have never had enough staff to actually find foster families and be able to support them.

So, all that has been accomplished in the past few years has happened at All Creatures Country Club, and out of the personal pockets of Dwight and Kat Rollins.

Times have been tough, but we have not let any of our charges down in any way. Even when it came to surgeries on one pup alone in excess of $4,000.00.  Had to pay on that for a very long time!
